Putting Magnetic Eyelashes to the Test!

Hi, beauty lovers!

So if you know me, you know I love having long, thick, dark lashes! I am rarely caught without several layers of mascara and actually have a history with eyelash extensions. Back in the summer of 2017, I tried eyelash extensions for the first time and I was totally hooked! After a few months, I wanted to give my lashes a break but in early 2018, I started up again. I had the most gorgeous set of lashes but suddenly had a major allergic reaction! When I woke up the day after getting them, my eye lids were super swollen and super itchy! It was horrible and I was so sad to learn that I had become allergic. Since then, I've been trying different salons and various glues (you can get a test of like 5 or 10 lashes on each eye to see how you react) but my eye lids get a little puffy and itchy every time.

Although I'm super sad about it, I've accepted the fact that eyelash extensions probably aren't for me. (My wallet is happy though!) Whenever I want added volume to my lashes, I use  Ardell individual lashes. I think they are SOOO much easier to apply than a full strip and I love that you can place them anywhere you want. They also look more natural as compared to a strip lash and you don't have to worry about cutting them or anything!

Lately, magnetic eyelashes are all over social media and there are tons of brands and tons of variations! I had tried the ones where the lashes magnetize to each other (shown in below picture on the left) but I could never get them to line up correctly! LOL!

Recently I've been seeing products where the eyeliner magnetizes to the eyelash strip and that seemed interesting to me since I always wear liquid eyeliner. So, I decided to try out some affordable and accessible magnetic eyelash brands and see what the hype is all about! If you're more of a visual learner, check out my  IGTV review here!

First, I tried the  Eyelure ProMagnetic lash system (purchased from Amazon) and I liked this right off the bat because it was super easy to apply the liquid eyeliner and the lashes looked long and thick on my eyes! Pro Tip: Read the instructions! I know this seems obvious but I didn't read them the first time around so I didn't realize that you needed to apply a few coats of the eyeliner! HAH! But I will say that after a few minutes of wear, these lashes felt heavy and were lifting in the inner corner. A trim of the strip might have helped but overall, I didn't love these.

Next, I tried the  Ardell Wispies which I also purchased from Amazon. I did not like these at first because the gel eyeliner comes in a tub and you have to apply it carefully with a brush. Again, the instructions said to apply 3 coats! UGH! It got easier every time, but it was still annoying to have to apply more than 1 coat. The lashes didn't look as full but they still looked nice and appeared more natural.

However, these lashes were MUCH more comfortable as compared to the Eyelure! When it comes to eyelashes, you have to be comfortable - otherwise you won't be able to see! So - Ardell wins!

Which do you prefer? The Eyelure Lashes are on my left eye and the Ardell are on my right! Let me know in the comments section below!

Ciao for now, beauty queens!
