Meet Lauren Michelle

Hi friends! I'm Lauren Michelle!
Thank you so much for visiting my little corner of the internet! Hope you like it here :)

While I'm not exactly new to the blogging world, Love, Lauren Michelle is only a few years old as I officially launched this platform in 2017. Prior to this site, I had a wedding related blog, @blushingbridalguide [ launched in 2014 ], which I am sure you can still dig up on IG even though I don't think I recall the account password! At the time, I was working at Kleinfeld Bridal, still believing that I was *destined* to be a wedding planner. [ & to answer your next question: no, I was never on the show Say Yes to the Dress since I worked mostly downstairs in the accessory department. ]

I eventually moved on from Kleinfeld, realizing that as much as I love Jennifer Lopez, I didn't want my life to revolve around other people's weddings. Even though I knew a *lot* more than the next person about all things weddings, I still didn't feel super credible as a wedding blogger having not yet been a bride myself.

Which brings me here

When thinking of a new blog name, I wanted something that would grow with me through the next phase of my life - whatever that was going to be. I threw around a few ideas but ultimately [ & obviously ], I landed on Love, Lauren Michelle. I usually sign cards with "Love, Lauren Michelle," so I liked the idea of signing all my blog posts the same way. [ & because I'm sure you're thinking it, no, my first name is simply Lauren and that is basically what everyone calls me! ]

So now I had a name and a URL. But what was I going to write about? What story was I going to tell? [ FYI, it's really much easier to start a website than to figure out what you're going to write about. This coming from me - someone who is really not technologically savvy. ]

Being an *influencer* back then wasn't as wildly popular as it is now, but there were still some heavy hitters in the game. So while I knew that I wanted to talk about fashion and probably beauty, I knew I needed an *angle.* At first, I wanted to share my personal story/online dating experience, since I had just been through a breakup. Actually, as I am writing this now, I just went back to my very first post to reread my initial inspiration - made me smile and tear up at the same time!

Once I realized that online dating is an actual *nightmare* [ change my mind ], I pivoted into a monthly "Wedding Wednesday" post because I simply just could not let JLO down. This was so Gretchen of me, like, just stop trying to make it happen. It's not going to happen.

This brings us to today.

A post-pandemic world where the best thing that has come out of it is my reignited passion for blowing up your Instagram stories and feed.

In the spirit of "breaking the fourth wall" [ as I once said ], I try to keep it very real, especially on IG stories - the closest look into my daily life. But I can assure you that I am certainly not as put together as my carefully curated and well-lit feed! If you've been frequent flyer here, you've probably seen me, my blog and my Instagram content go through so many changes over the years. You've been with me through huge lapses in content, one highly mentally emotional desk assembly and my biggest influencer related accomplishment to date - my acceptance into LTK! [ & while I know no one wants or needs another person telling them what to buy - yes, I am totally going to tell you what I've been buying because I love to *treat myself* & yes, I will also suggest that you buy it because I want you to *treat yo self* too! ]

What's that? You still have no idea what my blog is about? Well, as I like to say, long story *long*!
Here's the elevator pitch:

I'm a thirty, flirty & thriving single gal living and working in NYC who loves all things beauty! I also work for a beauty company doing *mostly* fragrance product development and marketing, which I absolutely LOVE! I feel really blessed to finally be able to say that after quite a few years trying to find my niche [ in my career & in blogging. ]

If you're still with me [ through this post & my journey ], thank you for following.
It means more than you know.

Follow my journey on Instagram so you don't miss a thing!
